PROPERTY STANDARDS

CBO's CODE OF CONDUCT
CBO duties include:
  • Receive and process all building permit applications review construction plans
  • Issue building and demolition permits
  • Inspect all stages of building as required by the Code
  • Issue orders to comply or stop work orders when Ontario's building standards are not met
  • Give final approval to construction projects
  • Prepare regular statistical data for Stats Canada forward building information to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation
  • Report to Arran-Elderslie Council on local building statistics
PSO duties include:
  • Receive and verify written signed property standards complaints
  • Inspect properties
  • Consult with property owners to comply with the local Property Standards By-law
  • Issue Property Standards Orders to Comply when no voluntary compliance
  • Follow-up inspections to verify compliance
