NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, during a recent investigation noted that a large area of the water distribution system serviced by the steel water tower experiences low pressure.  A much larger area cannot receive the required quantity of fire flows at desired water pressure at the hydrants.

The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie has studied the problem and considered options including constructing a booster pumping station to boost the pressure, replace the water tower, etc.

The project is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.  A public meeting shall be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Tara Community Centre Hall.  At the meeting, a presentation shall be made that will highlight the problem, alternatives available to resolve the problem, estimated costs and the recommended alternative.

Water consumers as well as other interest groups are invited to participate in the public meeting.

Comment sheets shall be provided at the meeting and shall be received by the Municipality until February 1, 2007.  Public input and the comments shall be incorporated into the planning and design of this project.

This notice issued January 12, 2007.
