PAISLEY MEDICAL CLINIC CONSTRUCTION
There have been differing opinions about the design and inspection of the clinic. Arran-Elderslie Council has confirmed the following arrangements to proceed with construction without delay:
1. The current building plans have been forwarded to our municipal engineers, Henderson, Paddon & Associates Ltd., who will review said plans, make structural changes necessary [if any] to conform to the Ontario Building Code. With their review, the design plans then become those of Henderson, Paddon & Associates Ltd. whose name will appear on the plans—no longer Chief Building Official, Craig Johnston's, plans. Henderson, Paddon & Associates Ltd. will be charging an hourly rate for the staff involved with the said review and a follow-up approval of the construction as the designer, as required by the Ontario Building Code. There is to be no other inspection by Henderson, Paddon & Associates Ltd. during the construction process.
2. As the plans will no longer be Craig Johnston’s, he can do the inspections of the construction of the clinic.
3. Al Domm, of Domm Construction Ltd. has been notified of this change and is agreeable. Domm has been put in contact with Henderson, Paddon & Associates Ltd. to address any concerns he may have with the plans.
4. Site work will remain with Vernon Weppler, Works Manager.
5. Council has arranged for the zoning on the site to be updated for a clinic concurrently with construction so there is no delay.
Arran-Elderslie Council has supported and facilitated this project from the beginning.
