MINUTES
A special meeting of the Council of the
Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 9:00
a.m. in the Council Chambers.
The following Members of Council were present:

OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF
There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest by
Members of Council under the Municipal
Conflict of Interest Act.

BUSINESS
3.1 Review
of Building Department Operational Review dated April 30, 2009 and presentation
by Karen Grogan, KPMG Forensic Inc. on May 25, 2009
Mayor Oswald provided opening
remarks with respect to the review that had been presented to Council on May
25, 2009.
Council discussed the various
recommendations contained in the Building Department Operational Review dated
April 30, 2009, in order.

TO MOVE INTO CLOSED SESSION AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF:

by: Councillor Charlton
Seconded
by: Councillor Davis
That Council move into closed
session to consider matters related to the receiving of advice that is subject
to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that
purpose.
Carried
Council moved into closed session and returned
to open session (9:40 a.m. – 11:17 a.m.).
A recess was held at this time (11:17 a.m. –
11:24 a.m.).
3.1 Review
of Building Department Operational Review dated April 30, 2009 and presentation
by Karen Grogan, KPMG Forensic Inc. on May 25, 2009 (continued)
Council continued with its
discussion of the various recommendations contained in the documents presented
to Council on May 25, 2009.

That Council direct the Chief
Administrative Officer to work toward implementation of the various
recommendations contained in the Building Department Operational Review Report
dated April 30, 2009 and report to Council on a regular basis with respect to
progress on this initiative.
