MINUTES

 

A special meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers.

 

The following Members of Council were present:

 

Mayor Ron Oswald (Chair)

Deputy Mayor Mary Cumming

Councillor Stacy Charlton

Councillor Mark Davis

Councillor Paul Eagleson

Councillor Ross Herron

Councillor Jack Riley

 

The following member of Staff was present:

ADOPTION OF AGENDA

 

            Moved by:       Councillor Charlton

            Seconded by:  Councillor Riley

 

            That the agenda be adopted as distributed by the Clerk.

DISCLOSURES OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF

 

There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest by Members of Council under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act at this time.

 

 


RESOLUTION TO MOVE INTO CLOSED SESSION AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF:

 

            Moved by:       Deputy Mayor Cumming

            Seconded by:  Councillor Davis

 

            That Council move into closed session to consider personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.

 

                                                                                    Carried

 

Council moved into closed session and returned to open session (9:09 a.m. – 11:13 a.m.).

 

 

ADOPTION OF RECOMMENDATION ARISING FROM CLOSED SESSION

 

Proposed Amendments to Organizational Structure – Recreation Department and Building Department

 

            Moved by:       Councillor Charlton

            Seconded by:  Councillor Herron

 

            a)         That the proposed amendments to the organizational structure relating to the Building Department and the Recreation Department and the management of facilities be adopted as discussed at this meeting;

 

            b)         That Staff be directed to review and adjust the job descriptions for the affected positions to properly reflect the changes in responsibilities and for positions contained within the bargaining unit, the appropriate evaluation and hourly rating be completed as set out within the union’s contract of employment with the Municipality.
