DRINKING WATER
SOURCE PROTECTION

Everybody is responsible for water! Water quality and quantity conservation is a community activity that begins with each landowner and their family.

How you use water in your home, around the yard and while at work and play is important to our water supply. Treat your water well, so it can stay as pure and plentiful as possible.

- collect rainwater in a barrel to use on the lawn and garden

- be an avid recycler and dispose of hazardous waste properly

- try ‘green’ cleaners, lawn care products and pest controls

- sample your well water 3x/year through the health unit

- maintain your septic system – pump every 3-5 years

To learn more about how to protect drinking water sources visit: www.waterprotection.ca
