CHESLEY COMMUNITY PLAYERS are issuing a cast call for “DRY STREAK”, a Canadian Comedy, to be presented at Chesley’s Bijou Theatre on April 15, 16, 17, 23, 24. Required are 4 adult males and 3 adult females. Auditioning at the Bijou on Tuesday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. For information, please call Astrid Bleumer at 363-2503. Everyone is welcome to try. Come, display your hidden talents, break a leg?

 

CHESLEY COMMUNITY PLAYERS present “DRY STREAK” at the Bijou Theatre on April 15, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. This is a comedy set in rural Canada. Hilarious and heartwarming. Written by Leeann Minoque. Directed by Astrid Bleumer. Put a circle on your calendar for an evening of pleasant entertainment. Remember, an apple a day may keep the doctor away, but laughter is really the best medicine.

 

CHESLEY COMMUNITY PLAYERS will have their ANNUAL MEETING at the Bijou on Tuesday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. A membership fee of $5.00 gives voting rights. New directors are needed. If you are interested in being a director or in any aspect of local theatre, come to the meeting. For information call Chair Danard Bell at 363-3678. Alternate storm date is February 9.

 

ROTARY CLUB OF CHESLEY wishes to thank all those who have donated USED EYEGLASSES to its collection project. To date 105 pair have been dispatched. More are needed and would be greatly appreciated. The drop-off point is Chesley Rexall store.

 

Sports and Recreation will be the theme display at the Treasure Chest Museum which will coincide with Heritage Week and the 2010 Olympics.  Our display will feature the many current sports  and those that took place in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie over the years.  Sports like lacrosse, hockey, baseball, lawn bowling, curling, figure skating and now the opening of Rail Trail for hikers.  The Saugeen River provides canoeing and kayaking as well as fishing. We will be open from Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19 from 1 to 4 pm.  If you have any articles you wish to the display, please call the Museum at 519-353-7176 and leave a message.  See you in February.

We are up and running!! Chesley Teen Club.  Every Friday at the Chesley Community Centre. Enjoy air hockey, foosball, safe darts, video games, music, and so much more in a safe and relaxing environment. Ages 11-14 from 6:30 to 8:00pm and 15-18 from 8:00 to 9:30pm. $2.00 admission per visit.

March Break Course

St Johns Ambulance Babysitting course is being offered on March 18th &/or 19th at one or all three of our community centres, from 9:00am to 4:30pm. There is a minimum participant number to run this course so sign up early and get the details. Cost is $50.00 per registrant aged 10-14 years. Call Katrina at 519-363-3039.
