Municipal Engineer's Review of James Knight & Associates June 25th report:  Jul 9, 2007 Page 1 Jul 9, 2007 Page 2 Jul 9, 2007 Page 3
Received by email, July 4th, 2007, at Council July 9th, the Hotel's new engineering report.

Hotel's James Knight & Associates, Professional Engineers, Report of June 25, 2007:  James Knight Eng Report

It has been suggested that the Municipality assist financially, in some way, to save the hotel.

The Municipal Act provides the following:  Assistance Prohibited

If the residents of Paisley would like to contribute to the hotel, the following estimated costs could be shared as follows:

Number of Paisley residential and commercial premises   512

Estimated cost to restore hotel building:

At a cost of:  $        500,000 each premise would pay:  $   976.56

     $        750,000 each premise would pay:  $1,464.84

     $     1,000,000 each premise would pay:  $1,953.13

Of course, if the cost is less, each premise would contribute less.

However, the Municipality could not get involved in the collection of such contributions.

Cheques would have to be made out directly to the Owner:    "1373551 Ontario Inc., RR 4, Markdale, ON  N0C 1H0"

Portion of building for demolition:  not as pictured in the Sun Times--its at the back--not on Queen Street.

See both engineering reports.

Burke Maidlow has provided the Municipality with a new engineer's report.  Mr. Maidlow has been asked if the new report can be posted on the Municipality's website.  If we get permission, it shall be posted here.
